280The customer service representative in charge of coordinating my move was extremely patient and polite. I had scheduled a move before the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic; so naturally, when the chaos began, my moving plans were all utterly destroyed. Multiple times. I was so relieved that [name removed by Sirelo] was so patient, understanding and helpful...
UNTIL.
The actual long awaited moving day finally came. I was 30 minutes late due to some pre-moving setup complications on my end (completely out of my hands). For this I was charged 70 euros. And the move wasn’t even being charged by the hour, it was an overall sum for the entire move. So an extra half hour could have just as easily gotten lost during the packing. There was no need to charge for an additional 30 minutes. OR, if that’s something they generally do, then it should be made very clear when confirming the appointment with the customer. It may or may not have helped in my situation, but I would at least not have felt so surprised/betrayed if I had been aware beforehand.
What’s FAR WORSE, though:
When their ”expert” came to estimate the volume of items being shipped, he estimated 11 cubic meters which was including a queen sized bed, console table, office chair, large espresso machine, ice cream machine, vacuum, industrial blender, tea kettle, and a large corner sofa. In the last minute I decided to leave ALL of the aforementioned items to cut down on the volume. I was expecting the resulting volume to be 6 cubic meters total as had been confirmed during that estimate for the remaining items. Yet once they had all of the items collected in their warehouse, suddenly the total volume was 9.5 cubic meters. At this point, I have no way to confirm or consolidatethe actual volume (as it is all in their posession now and I am already at my destination), hiring another company will make all of the current work/time/payments superfluous, and the timeline has been skewed so beyond its original proportions that I just can’t anymore. So since Niemi Services LTD. holds all the cards, I get unquestionably charged about 2000 euros extra and a ’sorry’.
Meanwhile I get to wait two months for my belongings to arrive.
